RhinAer® Receives 2021 MedTech Breakthrough Award for Best New Therapeutic Solution

We are honored to announce that MedTech Breakthrough has named Aerin Medical the winner in the 2021 MedTech Breakthrough Awards program, taking home the “Best New Therapeutic Solution” award for RhinAer, our innovative treatment for chronic rhinitis.
RhinAer features a thin, wand-like, stylus that is inserted via the nostril to deliver patented, temperature-controlled radiofrequency energy to precisely target the underlying causes of rhinitis. RhinAer enables ENT physicians to comprehensively treat chronic rhinitis, addressing both runny nose (rhinorrhea) and stuffy nose (congestion). The treatment has been clinically demonstrated to provide long-term relief.

Treatment with RhinAer may be performed during a routine office visit with local anesthesia. RhinAer does not involve any cutting, freezing, or removal of nasal tissue. Patients treated with RhinAer typically experience minimal discomfort with no downtime, returning to normal activities immediately following treatment.*

More than 30 million Americans suffer from non-allergic chronic rhinitis and 60 million Americans have allergic rhinitis.1 Both allergic and non-allergic rhinitis can cause symptoms such as persistent runny nose, nasal congestion, post-nasal drip, nasal itching and sneezing.

The mission of the MedTech Breakthrough Awards is to honor excellence and recognize the creativity, innovation, hard work and success of digital health and medical technology companies, services and products around the globe. All MedTech Breakthrough Award nominations were evaluated by an independent panel of experts within the digital health and medical technology industries, with the winning products and companies selected based on a variety of criteria, including most innovative and technologically advanced products and services. This year’s program attracted more than 3,850 nominations from around the world.
